The Loving Act of Believing Yourself

Meditación con Mataji Shaktiananda

Make contact, first, with your breath.
When the contact is conscious,
you experience satisfaction,
and no senses intervene.
It is simply enjoying yourself,
enjoying what your life is, even if you harbor regret,
some anguish, even sadness.
Just the act of breathing
brings you to that contact with everything,
and in the face of such wonder, you should surrender yourself.

Make your breaths deep, slow,
let them communicate to you who you are,
where you are, what you want, what you feel,
until you move toward that vast interior
that you hold within you.

Enjoy your quietude,
what you finally achieve
when you install yourself like this, completely at will.
And this whole moment occurs,
in which something in you recognizes itself.

Do you have any idea what that means?
To have such a motivation, to want this, to open yourself to you?
How can you not be pleased?
How can you not experience what all this entails?
Overcome all distractions, commit to yourself,
be still, stop, apparently.

You have to believe yourself; it is such a loving act,
so let go of everything that causes you tension
and tells you no, that it’s not like that.
If you are in yourself, if you fulfill a purpose,
you have overcome fears, you have wanted,
you have needed to love yourself more.
And it is an achievement.
Without pressure, observe yourself,
how much you regulate, calm, and become silent.
How you are exercising a healthy dominion,
control in faith. You believe yourself.

And thoughts, although continuous, seem to cease.
Thoughts cross your mind and do not stagnate,
they continue, before your attitude, so serene, so invincible.
You seek nothing, you attend to nothing,
only the registry of that breath, so benevolent,
so produced in you.

And goes on as if slowing down, so indescribably,
a certain breath, a calm mind,
an inert body, and an active system,
making contact with all that exists,
with all that is.
And there you are, alive, present, active,
leading yourself to you, managing your Being,
letting yourself be.

The paused, almost unnecessary,
breath is so brief that you permit this contact
with all that Is, to produce nothing in you, to place you there,
in the nothingness that is, which you equally contain,
in what is equally produced:
a divine silence, another instance of you, another moment,
another space, another you.

And that is when all that remains is to surrender,
to surrender yourself, to cease to be this.
Without expressing anything, because the silence
is contemplating the glimpse of the Absolute that you register.
There is nothing, you are not, you are not, you do not feel, you do not exist.
Only that, the infinite Being,
the one that reaches you and you reach in such a moment.
And not even the breath exists, see for yourself.

Pleased, breathe.
Breathe deeply, arriving to yourself once again,
to this body, to your mind,
and to your force that is your life.
And you feel, and you are pleased, you feel well.
You acquire a kind thought for yourself,
and you expand it to all.

Love this Earth. Love these beings.
Love what you are.
Love the moment that you live.
Love more and you will always be more.

Do not resent pettiness,
or entertain confusion, breathe it in.
Let the fool go on,
they will have their time
when they can and will know how to love themselves.
Concern yourself with your moment and love there.

Breathe deeply, thank yourself much,
and extend your promise to always be true.
Without lying, without hurting, without attacking, without transgressing.
