In the Face of These Times, Resist

Meditación con Mataji Shaktiananda

Take deep, serene breaths
that allow you to feel your internal self,
as well as this external space that you occupy.
Become serene.

Find your own physical stability,
let your breath keep you still;
from there, find stillness,
observe carefully if you hold any muscular or nervous tension,
and calm everything.

Let your structure settle within you,
and may you feel well,
and may your breath be free and comforting.
Let yourself, in a way, go on being emptied
in the measure that your breath also stabilizes.

Remain stable, in stillness,
and permit your mind to observe you,
more than you observing it.
Let what you produce make sense to it,
because it seeks, wants, needs to be still.
Observe how it responds,
the effort it makes to understand you.

You have to achieve an understanding mind,
and you are the one who manifests this.
It observes, regulates, and you let it.
And it is not that it takes control, it is the control.

You might ask, who grants it this?
And do not doubt it: it has to be you, it must be you.
For this reason you breathe in this way, you install yourself in this way,
you condition yourself in this way, you show yourself,
what you are capable of.
And in this way your mind knows it is because of it,
and you go on refining it, sensitizing it, preparing it,
so that it accepts, so that it accepts you
just as you are today.

You play with its memory, you play for good.
You go on reminding it, you go on reminding yourself,
and you establish and re-establish its agreements.
And just as you are, how you are today,
you consider what your proposal is
and you settle it, you present it.

You go on releasing, you go on releasing it,
from what you already now it is not, what you are not.
You maintain your breathing, offering it to yourself,
and your mind resists because it knows
that you are consciously assisting yourself,
so consciously that you know well who you are,
what you do, what you want, and what you offer yourself.

In principle, it is this truth that you are:
a living being, an active being, a being in breath,
a present being who has decided,
and who just sees, observes, contemplates, resists, trusts,
in what seems to be a created reality,
and which is constantly, continuously,
being so deliberately led to distort itself,
to confuse itself, to poorly dispose itself, to fear.

You breathe so consciously, so subtly,
so imperceptibly,
and you hold fast without despair, without anxiousness,
to this that you are: a breath.
And your mind observes,
and there is no trap, no reversal, no trick;

It is your pure and open Being, still,
that no longer wants to fear itself nor lend itself
to hidden, improper programs.
You want to be knowing how to be,
you want to encourage, knowing yourself to be.

One no longer compromises with so much unconsciousness.
One no longer falls for so much deception.
One no longer fights in vain.
One no longer suffers because of inconsistencies.
One no longer accepts so much farce.
One no longer allows oneself to enter into programs
so obvious, so uncontrolled, so nefarious.

And if, we must see, feel, the pain,
Let the forces gather
of the conscious breath that truth cultivates.
And if misery is felt, let there be no attack.
Let every impulse of grievance be controlled,
let it no longer even occupy judgment
until the laws are repealed.

Let the mind observe the goodness of your soul,
though contrite, noble;
though shaken, vital;
though frightened, resilient,
never abandoning the firmest and most loyal principle:
to be love, to be compassion.

Have patience,
even today, as you feel, disgusted by evil,
resolve, decide,
amplify the strength of your Being,
elevate your consciousness
and align yourself with goodness, with light, with love.

In the face of these times, resist.
Your mind can, and your soul even more so.
