Do I have an enthusiastic soul?

Meditación con Mataji Shaktiananda

Take each breath serenely, very consciously.
Observe yourself patiently and breathe lovingly
and enjoy that, celebrate your breath and give thanks for it as well.

Perceive how you go on clearing your mind,
how your breath wins you over, wins over your attention,
your perception, your observation, it wins over your feelings.
All that it produces for you, this quietude,
this stillness, this calm, and what’s more,
this enthusiasm for you, for your life.

Although you don’t register that, procure it: enthusiasm,
that which in itself is a source of so much.
When you lose it, you extinguish yourself,
and when you cultivate it, you illuminate.
And your breath insufflates your enthusiasm.

Breath by breath,
your enthusiasm grows.
Breathe with enthusiasm
and observe how it regulates you,
how it goes on being distributed,
how it illuminates your thoughts, your feelings.
How the body takes on even more life
to sustain you, and even more so, your soul,
so firm and constant.

Would you dare to ask: Do I have an enthusiastic soul?
Breathe for that.
And may one know what it is most enthusiastic about: Being.

And the breath vibrates, and you vibrate with your breath,
with enthusiasm, with trust, with respect, with love.
And the breath tenuous, minimal,
sustained in the enchantment of your enthusiasm.

What a marvelous being you are!
And let your breath tell you,
because – do you know what?
Your breath should tell you so much,
and understand well, what it should tell you
most and best is: silence,
that quieting of your mind,
that pure breath of knowing and wanting
to feel yourself in the Being,
that substance so intimate that permits you so much,
that leads you to your resplendence.

And you suspend yourself, you gravitate,
and it is your mind that does it,
enthusiastic as it is with you.
And it is when so beloved, so respectfully,
it accepts you fully, it abstracts itself, it surrenders,
it gives itself over to you and makes you present,
it keeps you present.

And your spark is produced,
from here, from this place, toward all that is,
with all that you are.
Where are you going?
Nowhere, toward nothing,
which is toward yourself.

You reestablish your breathing, deeply, consciously,
you hold on to yourself without clinging,
you feel yourself in this body,
and you breathe with all your lungs,
with enthusiasm for life,
with your mind active, with the strength to be,
and that desire to do good, action by action.
Without deception or self-deception,
without judgments or prejudices, without malice,
that which you already know.

Breathe, promising yourself to be who you are,
with firm enthusiasm to transform yourself
if it is that something weighs on you.
Be firm, be constant, be loyal.
