I Abide by the Silence and Inhabit the Void

Meditación con Mataji Shaktiananda

Become conscious of the moment,
of what you are doing.
Mark an axis, a center, a focus,
and stabilize yourself, situate yourself.

Establish some thought about yourself,
about what you think you are,
and let it pulsate,
so that you know to detach yourself from that.
Let your breath be what you are,
and all the unfathomable that inhabits you,
that impermanence you achieve
when you breathe like this, so consciously,
more so, to cease to do so.

But the breath is nourishment,
the one that regulates, controls, dominates,
more so, what your mind is.

You will say: Is my mind perhaps part of my essence?
Breathe that.
How much of my essence, is my mind?
And how could you separate it?
It would be an unsult.

Tha is why you work, breathing like this,
so that she can feel part of everything,
not just of what your essence is,
although that’s what matters most to her.
So, by breathing like this,
you perform the most optimal exercise,
resource, for her integration.

And you know it well,
the breath regulates her, commands her, invites her.
And she goes on calming in her fear,
in her exaltation, in what she believes to be her dominion,
knowing everything she does, everything she emits.
She believes herself to be the architect of your pulses,
your heartbeats, your torrents.

For if you flood her,
you fill her, with what your love is,
she would need nothing more, no control.
Let her know
that all your breaths are your love.
So much so that she needs nothing to do or be,
that she detaches herself equally, that she doesn’t cling.

Little by little, you begin to perceive
that liberation, like a stillness,
no pressure or tension.
It opens, it expands,
before this state of consciousness
that your Being is.

And without creating schemes,
even less anxieties, breathe fully,
with that constancy so calm,
almost so still, without startling,
without demand.
Not even that internal commotion
produced by your very silence.

There are commotions in silence,
currents that move,
not only in your field, in your internal systems,
that which could even be a labyrinth.
Silence all of that by breathing like this.
Silence.

You will say: Is there fullness in the emptiness?
Isn’t that a contradiction?
What would there be to fill?
What should be filled?
Perhaps the emptiness itself, silent as it is?

Breathe peacefully,
without alteration, without a false return,
quietly and fully.
Let the expansive be,
the profound be, the immeasurable be,
and it is not even unknown.

Nothing to cling to,
the mind coordinated, the breath as breath,
the just perception of you
and Being disposed within you,
in your emptiness, in your silence,
in the encounter with the Nothingness,
for which an encounter it is not.

And the breath that dares to cease.
If there is no breath, what sustains me?
If I there is no breath, what exists?
If I abide by the silence
and expand into emptiness, what is there?
Do you know how to inhabit that?
If there is nothing, who exists, in what?

And the achievement of the mind is,
needless to say, of the soul itself,
which is of the Being itself,
in which it deposited the essential.

The breath returns,
and you retake it with so much love,
so that the mind itself thanks you
for the consciousness within you,
and the silence speaks to you and says to you: love.
And the body is situated in your love.
And reality awaits you,
bustling as it is, from your love.

And life, so beautiful and precious,
arranged in love.
And you, in gratitude, for yourself and yours,
with complete love.

The breath resumed, deepened,
manifesting your love.
And your smile fresh and open,
shaping itself in love.

Give thanks to what Is,
to what you are.
